How to turn on Weather on Flickaday

I've noticed there were a lot of search inquiries for "how do I turn on weather in Flickaday", so I figured I should make a quick note for everyone who wasn't already familiar.

Currently the weather option is only available in the United States. To enable this feature follow the simple steps below.

Under your dashboard enter:

Your country as: "USA" and fill in your vaild 5 digit zip code. That's it!

Under: Preferences: "Permissions & privacy settings", you can enable/disable the weather by toggling the "Show weather when available" option.

Updates to Twitter and Flickr Modules

In our efforts to continue creating features that you love to use, we made a few tweaks to our Twitter and Flickr modules.

1.) You'll notice that Twitter now posts a URL directly to your profile and picture back on Flickaday.com

2.)You can now choose a photo set to lump all of your Flickaday photos into, on Flickr. This way you don't need to clutter up your Flickr photo stream. You can keep everything nice and organized

Twitter & Flickr Integration: Update

We've been getting great feedback on the latest Twitter and Flickr modules. Everyone is enjoying them thoroughly. In an effort to round off both the modules, we've made a couple updates. You can edit both of these in the modules section.

1.) You can now post your just your image, or just your mood to Twitter. Previously you had to post both or neither. Simply use the check boxes to toggle your preferences.

2.) You can now sync your entire past catalog of Flickaday photos to Flickr. Simply choose a date range that you want to send to flickr, click the sync button and you're finished.

Flickaday Integrates with Flickr

The integration continues. You can now automatically send your photos that you take on Flickaday.com directly to your Flickr account.

All you need to do is visit the the Modules section under "My Account". Scroll down to the Flickr section and click on associate account. You'll be taken to Flickr.com where it will ask you if you want to associate your account. You'll need a Flickr account. If not you can create one here, for free.

After that simply, click "enable" in the modules section under Flickr integration. All of your photos will automatically be sent to your Flickr account from now on.

Twitter Integration with Flickaday has Arrived!

Yes, it is here. We know a lot of you out there are twitter users. Today, Flickaday offers another great way for you to stay connected with everyone. Start by visiting the modules section under "my account".

By simply associating your Twitter account on Flickaday.com, every time you take a picture, your image is updated on your twitter account, and your mood is posted as a tweet.

Furthermore, you can show your recent Tweets in your Flickaday widget as well as your Flickaday profile.

There have been a lot of people wondering if we are still doing anything with flickaday.com. The simple answer is that we are re-doing everything. Very shortly in the next month or so we will be releasing the next version of flickaday.com. We think everybody is going to love it and we are really excited. I'm posting a couple screenshots to let you guys behind the curtain. So here they are, hopefully this allows everyone to understand the extent to which we are trying to improve this service for everyone.

Find a Friend's Flick

No it's not just a tongue twister, it's the newest functionality on Flickaday. Now when you are browsing the People section, you can enter an email address of a friend and see how his/her Flick is coming along. While you're at it, you can snag your friend's embed code and display a bunch of Flicks on your web site, blog, myspace page etc.

We've been getting a lot of requests for a facebook app that people can use with Flickaday. This is one of our top priorities in rolling out new functionality and have already started preliminary planning for the app.

I was curious if we could get some user feedback on how you would want the facebook app to work.

We have our own ideas, but we want yours. All are encouraged to comment.

Here's a little hidden gem that not many of you know about. If you're using a mobile device that has internet browsing capabilities, then you can use flickaday right from your phone, pda, etc.

Simply go to flickaday.com in your phone's browser. If you are not automatically redirected, go to mobile.flickaday.com. You will be presented with a simplified interface which makes it real easy to upload a photo right from your phone.

Simply snap a photo of yourself with your phone, visit mobile.flickaday.com, login, enter your mood, and upload the picture straight from your phone.

Now you never need to miss a beat.

Latest Flickaday Features

Hey Guys,

So we've been busy unloading a ton of new features. To access the new features, make sure you are logged into your account, using the email address & passphrase you signed up with. This includes when you're accessing your calendar and your preferences too.

Here's the low-down:

The Flickaday People Section:

This allows you to view the most recent signups, along with some of the existing members of the site.

The Flickaday Mood Cloud:

This allows you to view groups of users by their mood for the day. The more people with a specific mood, the bigger the tag will appear.

Prefer to keep it Private?

No problem. Here at Flickaday we respect your privacy. Simply login to your account and set your profile to private. If your account is set to private, you'll be the only one who can access/view your flick.
